A 3D animated lion will roar for each UK winner at this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The animation will react in real time each time a UK winner is announced during the week-long festival which rewards creativity across different media and types of advertising and marketing.
The UK agencies, WCRS and Gyro, developed the feature as part of the GREAT International Trade Campaign, showcasing the benefits of working with UK businesses.
The GREAT campaign, developed for the UK's Department for International Trade, aims to generate increased demand for UK creative services, by highlighting the outstanding performance of UK agencies to the 11,000 industry delegates from 90 countries expected at the annual advertising industry event in Cannes.
At the time of writing, UK winners at the Festival have included Mediacom, Fallon, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis and FCB London, with many of the best established categories still to announce their winners.
Janet Hull, Director of Marketing Strategy at the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) and CIC Marketing and Comms Group Chair, said: ‘It’s GREAT to see the Government celebrating UK creative success on the world stage at Cannes, and demonstrating a new commitment to positioning the UK as a global centre of excellence for advertising, in all its forms.”
