Exported UK shows among the winners at 2024 Tony Awards

The musical productions 'Cabaret' and 'Merrily We Roll Along', which both originated in London, produced winners at the 2024 Tony Awards, organised by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was named Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his performance in 'Merrily We Roll Along', a production which originated at the Menier Chocolate Factory in London. The production, directed by Maria Friedman and produced by Sonia Friedman, won a total of four Tony Awards, including for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical, and Best Orchestrations.

Separately, 'Cabaret' picked up the award for the Best Scenic Design of a Musical, won by Tom Scutt.

The big categories were won by the 'The Outsiders' (best new musical), 'Stereophonic' (best new play), and 'Appropriate' (best revival of a play).
