Unruly is the pioneering UK ad tech company that gets videos watched, tracked and shared across the web.

Positioned at the intersection of video, social, native and mobile, Unruly uses emotional audience data and user-friendly video formats to increase video engagement to make brands' content more effective, and gain more advertising revenue for publishers.

Unruly adds value by algorithmically evaluating content shareability and programmatically targeting custom audiences.

The company has spread from its base in Shoreditch, east London, to build an international presence with more than 200 staff and 15 offices worldwide, including London, New York, Singapore and Tokyo. Clients include top tier advertisers, such as adidas, Dove, T-Mobile, Evian and Renault.

Since 2012, Unruly has benefited from the investment and support of Amadeus Capital Partners, Endeit Capital and BGF (Business Growth Fund).

In September, it was announced that Unruly would be acquired by News Corp for £58m cash and up to £56m in future consideration, dependent on performance.

Founded in 2006 by Scott Button, Matt Cooke and Sarah Wood, Unruly was selected as one of Tech City UK’s high-growth Future Fifty companies.

Co-chief executive Sarah Wood was recently named as one of the winners of the advertising and marketing category in the h.Club 100 Awards and was also appointed a technology adviser for London

Sarah Wood added: “It’s a real honour to be asked to be a technology ambassador for London. London is the place to be if you want to start up and scale up a global technology company, and I want to make sure everyone around the globe is aware of all of the opportunities the capital offers.

"It’s home to some of the most innovative companies in the world, we have more developers and investors than any other city in the world, there are highly favourable tax incentives for entrepreneurs and we have a vibrant, lively and diverse culture."

CEO of Tech City UK, Gerard Grech, said: “Unruly is one of the great success stories of the UK’s digital economy, scaling globally from the capital. A world leader in advertising technology, Unruly has also made invaluable contributions to the startup ecosystem, especially through its support of the Digital Business Academy and its commitment to digital education with City Unrulyversity."
