As part of the ISCF Audience of the Future Challenge, a new fund, the Immersive Technology Investment Accelerator opens to companies on 20th May 2019.

Up to £2m is available for UK creative and tech businesses to undertake R&D projects that enable immersive content to be created faster, more efficiently or in new ways through simultaneous grant funding and venture capital investment.

The Investor Accelerator (IA) supports companies that require funding and finance at seed stage to drive R&D and company growth whilst providing the runway for later stage capital and equity investment in the future.

The competition is open to UK-based small businesses working with immersive technologies. Total project costs must be between £150,000 and £300,000.

Innovate UK will provide up to 70 per cent of costs dependent on your business size, with the remaining funds provided by one of the following selected investor partners:

Creative England, GC Angels, HTC Europe, London Venture Partners, Mercia, Northstar Ventures,Oxford Science Innovation, R/GA, Station12, Techstart Ventures and Warner Music.

The IA will fund UK creative and tech companies who are:

  • Creating and capturing additional value from the production of immersive content, IP or experiences through the application of technology
  • Developing a scalable road map in products, platforms, services, software, hardware and tools in immersive technology

Events to explain the scheme are being held in London (20th May), Edinburgh (21st May), Manchester (4th June) and Belfast (10th June). There is also a live webcast on 20 May from 9:30-13:00. Register now
